Emergency Notifications

UC Berkeley WarnMe is the campus mass emergency alerting system

UC Berkeley WarnMe is the notification system serving the UC Berkeley community. Emergency notifications are sent via the Everbridge platform (previously called Nixle) upon confirmation of a significant emergency or dangerous situation occurring on the campus that involves an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees.

Please visit the WarnMe website to sign up for SMS/text message alerts, update your information, and more.

Unsubscribing from WarnMe notifications

The University is required by federal law (the Clery Act) to notify the campus community when certain crimes that could pose a serious or ongoing threat to the campus are reported on or near campus property (e.g. an aggravated assault in which the suspect was not apprehended) or if there is an immediate threat to the health and safety of the campus community (e.g. a wildfire heading toward the campus). To meet federal requirements, all berkeley.edu email addresses are included for timely warnings and emergency notifications; they are uploaded/reuploaded through an automated process. If you no longer wish to view these messages, you can create a filter for your inbox (follow these Gmail Help instructions). However, this means that you may miss critical safety information during emergencies.
